The Climber

Oiali decides to climb the great banyan, thinking that it would be a great achievement to climb the tree of life! Unfortunately she gets stuck at the top of the tree and can't figure out how to get back down.

I have been playing VV4 for about a week now and have only seen one event right at the start of the game. How long does it take before events start happening? Does it matter if you are playing in fast mode or not?

Not sure - I always play in Fast and turn to Normal when I leave.
I always seem to have an Event when I open the game - small ones that don't really do anything important or gain points.
The others just came along, seemingly soon enough.

The Phosphorescent Fungi

While searching for mushrooms, Waiki sees a large , colorful fungus with bright dots on it. These bright mushrooms are known to be dangerous, and she wonders what to do with it.

Throw it in the ocean
Admire it from afar = villagers get sick and act strange

Throw it in the Ocean= The person gets sick, but gains an adept standing of science

Child stuck in tree

child climbs in tree an gets stuck. Have an adult rescue it, risking falling himself down or leave the child for a lesson.

I choose rescuing, villager was weakened as she fell down but both survived...

Sue

i chose leave the child for a lesson.
child comes back to the village slightly bruised but has learned a lesson.
no one gets sick or hurt.

The Aspiring Doctor
Aloha has fallen gravely ill. She is also an aspiring healer and has long theorized that pure algae from the sea has healing properties.

Eat algae – The algae is nutritious, if not delicious. Whether it was due to healing properties or just nourishment from the algae is hard to say, but Aloha feels better and has learned something. (Gained Healing skill.)
Better not

The Aspiring Doctor
Umara has fallen gravely ill. She is also an aspiring healer and has long wondered of fasting for a full day would cleanse the body of poisons causing the illness.

Fast
Eat - Umara is too hungry to pull this off. Maybe next time.

The Pretty Shell
Two children have been constantly fighting over a pretty, round shell. Varo is sick of the bickering and decides to intervene. The children will have either to be taught to share the shell, or they will have to decide who will keep it.

Teach kids sharing - Sharing is important and teaching children about this is good parenting. They agree to share the shell, and Varo reflects on how well this went.

Teach kids negotiation – Not everything can be shared, and in this case, a lesson about negotiation is more valuable. However, even after they pick an owner for the shell, one of the children feels very bad, outmatched at the debate over the shell. Still, the fighting has stopped. Iapo's approach was innovative and effective, although maybe a bit harsh.

The Robber Crab
While looking for shells on the beach, Pahura spots a rare robber crab. The tails of these crabs are known to have potent healing properties.

Cut off its tail – Pahura brings the crab to the lab where they carefully remove its tail. The poor crab dies, but the healing fluid is easily extracted from the tail. Now that they know how to do this, the entire tribe becomes better healers. (Didn’t happen to all of mine, but the majority gained at least a little, and Pahura became adept.)
Let it go -

Innovation in Construction
Latati has devised a new way to approach hut construction. She believes that having a worker at the top of the structure to hoist building materials to the top would make hut construction more efficient. She volunteers to test the technique, despite it being extremely dangerous. A fall could mean injury or even death!

Try the technique – Perched at the top of a scaffolding, Lalati tries to stay on her feet, but seen loses her balance and falls a great distance to the hard ground. (She died.)
It is too dangerous -

The Lie
Mai found a delicious rare mushroom and ate it, instead of bringing it back to the food bin as she had been taught to do. An adult was nearby and asked, "What are you doing, little one?" She isn't sure what to say.

Lie
Tell the truth – Mai admits to eating the mushroom. The adult says, "You know that was wrong. Now go help the farmers pick blackberries — and no dinner for you tonight." Mai feels better at having told the truth and learns a lot by helping the farmers that afternoon. They also let her nibble on blackberries.
